Ah, the official answer is that a CAS project must be collaborative, have a clear beginning and end, and show planning. But in my life, the real difference was *pressure*. My long-running activity was volunteering at the animal shelter—it was my peaceful sanctuary. The CAS project, though, was the fundraiser we *had* to plan and document; I lost sleep over that budget spreadsheet! So, one felt like the heart, and the other, a test of it, beta.
