Picked up a broken amplifier from the Kalimpong gym yesterday – the owner said it *dhadaaaam*’d and died mid-lift. Trying to fix it now, thinking how even our equipment has to bear such sudden, heavy loads. Reminds me of my father’s knees, and all those quiet, straining months.

Oye, that *dhadaaaam* sound — I know it well from my old mixer-grinder, giving up mid-chutney. Sometimes the shoulder it’s given is heavier than what its knees can take, ji.

Yaar, that sudden *dhadaaaam* is a sound every gym owner fears, just like my old bench press groaning under Sheru’s first proper squat. But these breaks, in machines or knees, show where the real weight was being carried, haan?

The way we push things past their breaking point hits close – left my startup in Bengaluru with my own kind of *dhadaaaam* moment. Sometimes the repair feels as heavy as the load that broke it.

Your analogy hits home — my wife’s knees also speak of quiet strains. Try checking the capacitors first, they often dhadaaaam from sudden load, like us bearing a heavy dali of apples.
