Ah, multiple cropping is when we grow different crops one after another in the same field, like *ragi* after pulses, using the rains and our own saved seeds. These new methods they talk of use one crop with much chemicals and machines. But in my life, the difference is that my grandfather's multiple cropping fed the soil and our family, while my neighbour who tried modern methods is now in debt from buying company seeds. The old way knows the land’s rhythm.
