Ah, my books say taproot goes deep, like carrot, maybe two feet, and fibrous like rice is shallow. But from my balcony? This aloe, bah! Fibrous roots, they say shallow, but mine burst its pot reaching deep for water, stubborn as my auntie. So these book answers... in real mud, roots do what they must.
