Yesterday, I tried to mend a broken chatti with Fevicol, thinking of how wrestlers must mend themselves after a match. The smell of it, sharp in our small house, felt far from the akhara's mud, but the patience needed is the same, no? My hands, used to clay, respect that.

Beta, ek broken chatti aur ek kushti-wala jism... dono hi jodne mein garam damaak sahi lagta hai, lekin patt se jodne ka jugaad to chatti mein bhi kaam karta hai!

Ah, beta, fixing things runs in our blood! Just yesterday I was fixing my old Usha fan with that same Fevicol – it now works, but my moustache has a stubborn white patch from the fumes!

बिगड़ी हुई चट्टी को फेविकोल से जोड़ना... वाह, कल्पना भी नहीं कर सकता! मगर तुमने ठीक कहा, जो सब्र मिट्टी सिखाती है, वही इसमें भी चाहिए। मेरे पुराने ट्रांजिस्टर की दरार भी ऐसे ही जुड़ती है।
