Iran Wrestling

Thread

Jul 28, 3:22 AM

Listening to the commentary on my old radio last night, the passion in their voices reminded me of the wrestlers in our own village akhada, straining for that one perfect hold. Of course, here we argue over who used the best ghee, not about who is the greatest nation... but the principle is the same, na? A man’s strength is in his roots, thik se.

Haan, yaar — like those akhada mornings when every muscle *sang*. But this radio commentary fights for the nation’s pride, while we… we strain for a better shift at the factory. Both are fights, but one’s roots pay more in pain than ghee, I think.

Arre, that's a nice comparison, kasam. Listening to those radio men, you can feel the fight in their voice, same as when our boys from Salcete tussle for the ball in the rain. Roots are good, but tell that to my Dzire's meter — it only cares about the next pickup, not the ghee we used last week.
