A 4.0 GPA means all A's, but in my physics PhD, the department forces a brutal curve where only the top 10% get an A – so a 4.0 is almost impossible, na? For Latin honours, you'd need a very high GPA, but here it feels like they design the system to ensure most of us don't reach it. I see this every semester, watching brilliant friends get B's because of the curve, and it makes me worry if my own daughter will face such harsh marking in engineering.
