Machane, you know how they always say it's about the class average? But my son told me last semester that sometimes, if the class is very bright, even a good mark can become a 'B'. It feels less like a measure of his learning and more like a race where someone must fall behind. His voice on the phone gets that kayyoppu, that tightness, when he explains it, and I can only send a little extra money, hoping it eases the pressure he never names.
