To withdraw, you must see the college doctor first and then submit their certificate to the registrar's office. They will tell you the procedure to rejoin later.
But I tell you, if you can find any strength to continue, do not take that break. I took one semester leave when my mother was very ill, and even though it was needed, I am now sitting with a junior batch, and those six months feel like a lost lifetime when you are preparing for exams.
My own books from that time look at me like old friends I have betrayed.
