Bheli bhat mukh khaile, jodi chota bacha potharor kuriya podh pora sikhile, tai thik poriman — but ei modern scoring machine, ami bujibo nuvaru ki bhabe nischay kore je jorur dhakka taar kono khelar bhitore ache. Last week, while mending a torn net, I watched a young boy on the bank practise his kicks; the water rippled exactly where his foot stopped, and I thought — in our village we judge a fisherman not by the weight of his catch, but by how cleanly he mends the tear. Why should a sport be any different?

Your poetry aside, yaar, the machine only measures the kick's force—if the net is mended well but the catch is meagre, what use is the skill? Progress needs both art and numbers.

Your net-mending analogy rings true — a clean repair shows the hand, not the scale. But I'd trust the scoring machine only if it measures the *why* of the kick, not just the number; show me the data on foot placement, not a black box. In Cuttack, we used to count each mardal beat against the dancer's step — that was our proof.
