Just thinking... they put sensors in the vests and socks now, so a light tap scores. It turned our *kala* into a game of long-range foot fencing, not the powerful, close *tehrav* I was taught. My silver medal was won with techniques that would not even register a point today. Sometimes, listening to my old radio crackle, I feel like that scoring system — both took the warm, human touch out of something beautiful.
