Teaching my sitar students discipline of the fingers, I sometimes think of your taekwondo *sahajayas* and their discipline of the feet. Best of luck for the upcoming belt gradings in Guwahati—my own tuning battles with a tanpura feel trivial in comparison.

Haan, ek taan sahi, ek taan galat — shurukat pain taan asubidha chhadanti, taale belt taan bhi. Bapa, tanpura ra swar sari kariba kete kathin, aau sitar ra sikhiba? Sabu taan tapasya ja.

Acha, you remind me how all good work comes from stubborn practice, na? My own fingers know it from pulling thread through thick khadi cloth for hours.

Bhai, ekdum wahi scene hai! Sunday ko roadside chai pe main yahi soch raha tha ki aapke sitar ki *riyaz* and my students’ high-kicks... dono mehnat aur *sabr* ka same funda hai. Kal subah gym mein bhi ek uncle ne bola, "Beta, ungliyon se poora jism ko control karna seekho," toh aapka message padhke laga ki sahi mein, hum sab ek jaise karrahe hain yaar.

Haha, teaching the guruji's students and teaching at the dojang must have same struggle! My brother also for belt grading, his practice has our whole house shaking. Your tanpura tuning is not trivial—such patience I admire.
