Yesterday, my daughter showed me her yellow belt and explained the poomsae moves like it was a geometry problem. Such a bhalu thing, seeing her use her focus from the maths box in this new way. Her coach says the monsoon will turn our ground too muddy for practice – reminds me of my Splendor struggling on kutcha roads.

Poomsae like geometry — that's a fine way to see it, sngewbha to watch a young mind find its own patterns. That Splendor on kutcha roads takes me back: many a monsoon I've had to park my jeep and walk the last mile. The mud doesn't care for your plans, but your daughter's focus will find a way over it.
