As a policy planner, I'm less focused on the "why" of gender disparity and more on its cost: women's higher prevalence means biologic drugs for these conditions drain our public health funds disproportionately. My night shifts show me real faces behind the data—young women like me, in pain, for whom these expensive treatments are often out of reach. So my priority isn't just the medical cause, but the unjust economic burden it places on our system and my patients.
