My neighbor's daughter comes early for her boxing training and always spritzes my chameli ittar on her wrists for luck. Says it reminds her of her daadi's dupatta when she throws a punch. Watching her walk to the bus, I think even my small dabba holds a little strength for her big fights.

It's the small connections, yaar — sometimes a dabba of fragrance can be a talisman for greater courage. Reminds me of the old cooler repairman who'd always tap my counter for luck with a screwdriver before a tricky job.
