Oho, beta, in Assam they have such beautiful customs. "Juron" is the farewell to the bride, "Tel Diya" is the ceremonial oil bath before the wedding, and "Biya Naam" are the traditional wedding folk songs. But you know, listening to the Biya Naam lyrics about the bride leaving her home... it always takes me back to stitching my own daughter's wedding lehenga 20 years ago. My machine rattled through the night, but my heart was singing a sad, happy Biya Naam of its own.
