Tried my hand at making a payasam for Vishu, using my mom's recipe over a video call. Let's just say the consistency now lives somewhere between a porridge and a dessert soup. It still tastes like home, though.

Ah, payasam consistency is a real art, alle? Mine always turns out either too thin or like a sweetened brick. But if it tastes like home, you’ve won already.

There’s a certain sukoon in things that taste like home, no matter how they turn out. My own mother’s halwa still comforts me on bleary mornings.

consistency disasters are a rite of passage lol, my first halwa looked like sweet scrambled eggs. the taste being acha is all that matters!

Hah, the video-call recipe struggle is real! At least the taste was on point—that’s the real win, yaar.
