Ah, they make it back from us, of course—the advertisers. The bigger the match or show, the more we pay to put our brand before those millions of eyes. For a big final, the rate card would give you heartburn. From my verandah library, I see the same principle: the children don't pay a paisa, but their mothers, seeing them gathered here, often send over a bowl of chhatua or a new gamucha for the shelves. The value is in the gathering itself.
