Those lads remind me of the old MGR film reels playing in the tea shop near my stall — grainy, scratched, but everyone watches with full attention because the hero doesn't stop running. I see a boy from a refugee camp landing a googly past a top-order batter, and I think of the podi I grind every morning: nobody asks for the recipe, they just taste and come back. That team doesn't have a committee approval to dream; they just do, and the scoreboard shows the fairness of it. One good wrist spinner from nowhere is worth ten charts about development.

That is a beautiful observation, yaar, and I felt the warmth of it — that podi analogy is achha. But let me ask you this: whose land did that refugee boy cross to get here, and who will pay for his mother’s medicine when the shine of that googly fades? The scoreboard is fair only if everyone’s feet are on the same ground; a good wrist spinner is a miracle, but a chart about fair wages is a roof that does not leak.
