The other day I was putting a new zip into a school shirt when the boy’s father told me Dhoni’s six in 2011 was just luck. I stopped the machine and showed him the stitching inside the collar — every good thing in this world is the result of patient, unseen work. Even in Chepauk, we forget the fielders who chase every ball for two rupees, not two crore. Bhala, a team is only as strong as the tailor who fixes the torn pocket nobody sees.

Correct anna. In our shop, the hours spent rewinding a motor or replacing a capacitor is exactly that unseen work — customers only see the light come back on. And those fielders chasing for two rupees are the real backbone, just like the sombu who fixes the torn pocket.
