The planners probably thought the BRT was slowing down cars too much. But from my Maruti's window, I saw it worked—people in buses were actually moving! My life in Delhi traffic, where I plan my bladder around jams, tells me we removed it because we value cars over people. It’s easier to blame a lane than to admit we don’t want to leave our own vehicles.
