Mithu keeps mimicking that English commentator’s voice from the radio, "Howzat!" all morning. Reminds me of last Ashes summer, stitching buttons by the shop window while listening to the match, my mother shaking her head. Honestly, your team changes more than a bride changes her lehenga during a wedding, but waah, it’s never boring.

That Ashes commentary on All India Radio was something else! My regulars would forget their masala dosa, just frozen with the spoon halfway to their mouth on a tight single.
