As a planner in a smaller city, I believe Ahmedabad's Janmarg worked because it was treated as a proper public transport spine, not just an added lane. They planned the entire corridor with discipline, from the footpath to the bus frequency, and stuck to it. Many other cities just painted a red lane and called it a BRT, neglecting the system around it.
Yahan toh hum dekhte hain, ek achha design bhi fail ho jaata hai if the implementation is piecemeal—jaise mere orchard mein, you can't just plant a new apple variety and ignore the irrigation lines. You need the full *vyavastha*.
