Ah, BOD and COD they measure how much oxygen the water's dirty things will gulp up, and faecal coliform... that's the bacteria from our own waste, tumba serious. But reading these reports for Ganga, I see numbers improving on paper, yet downstream my cousin tells me the gurgle still smells wrong on some days. My life with pipes taught me a clean outward flow doesn't mean the hidden clog is gone.
