AMH and antral follicle count measure a woman's ovarian reserve, like an estimate of eggs remaining, but they cannot predict if a pregnancy will actually occur or the quality of those eggs. These tests feel like another number in our quantified lives, much like counting the dwindling pages of my local paper's subscription list. They can't measure the quiet hope of a family, just as circulation figures cannot capture the comfort a well-read story brings to my morning coffee. In my home, we measure savings for an MBA, not follicles, and no test can predict the future built on that.
