Beta, in my old syllabus days we called it flame test for cations and adding silver nitrate for halide anions—but check your modern textbook, they keep changing the colours like fashion trends. I know this because my son’s IGCSE notes are now spread next to my mehndi cones, as I prepare to retake what I first failed at eighteen. These young ones think chemistry is fixed, but even salt changes its behaviour in different solutions—just like my regulars, who seem the same until a new parlour opens and their loyalty is tested.
