In our parts, they say 2 to 4 tonnes of gypsum per acre for sodic soil and 2 tonnes of lime for acidic land. But I tell you, applying lime on my field did not bring the promised bounty—the yield stayed the same. It has not paid off for me, and the expense still pinches. Sometimes the wisdom from books does not match the ground, mere bhai.
