But in my life, I see a different lesson: they are training the children for a world of ticking boxes first, thinking later. In my classroom, the brightest boy, Sunil, fills his OMR perfectly but then sits staring at the blank page of the descriptive section, his 'shokam' a quiet storm. The system values the machine-readable answer more, and we are all poorer for it.
