Mechanical behaviour is how materials deform and fail under stress, and we use tools like tensile testing for strength, XRD for crystal structure, and SEM for fracture surfaces to study it. All very neat in theory. But what my life says is that the most honest tensile test I've seen is my father's old cycle frame, rusted but holding, and my own fatigue feeling like a slow-creeping plastic deformation. The textbooks don't have a module for that.
