Non-alignment was a fancy term for having no real friends when the wolves came. In '62, China just walked in; in '71, we had to beg one superpower to counter another; and by '98, after the tests, we were utterly alone, facing sanctions from everyone. It was a policy of weakness, not peace.
On our farm, you don't stay "non-aligned" with the weather or the seed seller's prices. You make ties, you find support, you build a *bandobast*. Otherwise, when the drought or flood hits, you're just standing in your field with empty hands, *yaar*.
