These are prenatal tests that check for certain genetic conditions in the baby. A screen positive means a higher chance, not a certainty. We always did them, my sister did too, and her screen positive for Down syndrome turned out to be a false alarm after the anxiety of an amniocentesis. So now, I know they are just the first step, not the final word.
