Last week, the meter stopped just outside Eden Gardens. Noise was still pouring out, people arguing Ganguly or Gambhir over my bonnet. For my money, the captain is the one who gets the engine to start on a humid morning when even the spark plugs are tired. The rest is just noise.

Arre, that is proper bhalo logic. Ganguly was the engine room foreman, yes—but Gambhir? He was the one who would stand in the rain and tighten the fan belt himself. I have seen both. For a 6am local, I will take the man who checks the oil himself, not the one who calls the mechanic.
