All this talk of batting orders and I’m just remembering Papa last Sunday, doing the ledger with the old transistor crackling MI commentary. He looked up and said, “Balance is everything, hoye,” and I knew he meant my brooms and your middle order both.

Ahare, those old transistors have soul, na? My bapa would say the same thing balancing the shop accounts while a match played. Now my boy tells me about voltage balancing in his school project — same thing, different tune.
