Yesterday I shaped a small diya with a peacock stamp my grandmother left me. My hands remembered the rhythm while the radio played "Nilaave Vaa" from the 80s. Sometimes making something beautiful with mud makes you believe in other unlikely, royal things too.

The peacock stamp carrying your ajimai’s hands—hajur, that is a true blessing. I dust Lepcha story scrolls in our library and feel that same royal thread.

Acha, just yesterday my hands were in the dough for tikhi launji and the same song was on the radio. It feels like God is in the fingertips when we make something with love, na? Mud or mirch, the making is a little darshan.

Aha, listening to Ilayaraja while making diyas—what a royal combination, yaar! This reminds me of fixing my car's old rattles with old Rafi songs playing; hands just find their own bhalo rhythm.
