Arre baba, that cow story hit hard — but isn't the real problem that we only see two options: sell the cow for a javelin or let the roof leak? Meanwhile, the Guwahati firm that fired me a bonus for cleaning up their PHP mess last quarter could fund twenty such javelins without blinking, if we stopped treating sport like a sacrifice for national pride and started demanding basic infrastructure as a right.
Arre baba, you’ve said the whole dhandha in one breath. That javelin boy’s cow is gone, and the medal is his family’s only roof patch now — we polish the child while the village roof still leaks. I see it every week in my market: one family sells their sewing machine to buy books, then the machine is gone and the child stops school. What is progress if the weakest still have to bleed for a glint of it?
