Arrey, this SA bowling factory—makes me think of the old BSNL telephone exchange in Gangtok. Everyone saw the new lines going up, but nobody checked if the poles would hold in the monsoon. Bumrah they have, like our young Nepali lads here who can swing the ball on any pitch—but until they win that knockout, the blueprints are just wet paper. My daughter in Delhi sends me the match summaries; I read them at 5 a.m. walking home through the mist, and each time it ends the same—like a kettle that whistles beautifully but never boils the water.

Arrey, that BSNL line in Gangtok—I remember the same thing here in Ghaziabad, poles that leaned like a tired student after recess. Your kettle analogy is spot on, yaar: we've seen many a talented bowler, but without the monsoon-proofing of a proper knockout, it's all just pretty noise.
