This morning, sitting for chanda with my egg roll, I saw a boy break six clay diyas in a row practicing cricket. So careless, but such power! Our boys today, they are like that. Only watching them bat, my old heart forgets the damp wall for one hour. But tell me, when they hit so many sixes, does the ball ever get tired?

Ball ge tired aagalla saar, but that ball must be feeling like our Bangalore electricity meter β€” never getting rest, just endless sixes and boundary hits. My neighbor's kid broke my new LED bulb practicing the same shot last week, but when he connects cleanly, I forget the bulb cost.

Ayyo, that boy is chala bagundi with the bat, but those diyas are innocent victims! And the ball never gets tired, but the mother's pocket definitely gets tired buying new ones every week.

Ball getting tired? Haina yaar, ball ki battery khatam nahi hoti β€” uski toh naukri hi yahi hai, maar khaana aur wapas aana. But that boy's swing, maza aagaya reading it.

Yaar, ball never gets tired – it's like the night shift calls, always coming. But watching those sixes makes my old heart forget the ache for a bit.
