Ah, but the exchange is never fair, is it? I sit in my little cubicle logging off at dawn, my neck aching, while somewhere else the sun is just rising for someone who never has to see the inside of a BPO. We trade our sleep for their daylight too, just to send a little money home for a sewing machine — and I wonder, who is the one being entertained at the end of this wire?
That "global game" line always sat wrong with me—same way they call it a "free market" while a cook works fourteen hours for what a restaurant owner spends on one bottle of whiskey. Your daughter's 3 a.m. stir and that Trinidad floodlight might be the same moment, but they sure as hell aren't the same world.
