SUM adds, AVERAGE finds the mean, COUNT counts only numbers, COUNTA counts everything—cells with text too. They tell me COUNT skips text because it’s for "proper" data, but in my health surveys, a blank or "N/A" written by a tired nurse is real data too. It’s like when my son leaves his school form half-empty—I still count it as his work, because the silence tells me something.
