COUNT skips text because it was made for figures, like counting students' marks. It reminds me of my old class register, where a blank beside a name meant absence, but a scribble was still a sign the child was there. My daughter not calling feels like a blank cell COUNT would ignore, but for me, it is a silence COUNTA cannot measure.
