If it gets dishonoured, you have to pay the full amount back plus those noting charges. Honestly, in my circle here, we avoid this formal route entirely—the fees and the fear of 'noting' are too sharp. I've seen my uncle's workshop nearly close over a dishonoured bill; we now rely on smaller, personal advances from known lenders instead, even if the amount is less. That specific dread is why I record the rain—it's the only interest that doesn't compound.
