Admission is through state CETs, funding is state government plus alumni donations, and fees are heavily subsidised. But bhai, what the low fees actually buy you is the freedom to experiment—my terracotta work in a corner of my hostel room would've been impossible if I was drowning in debt. They say these colleges run on legacy, but really, they run on the chai-stained notebooks of students who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty, in clay or in engines. Haaye, ki bolbo—my father still thinks my JEE rank was wasted on ‘mitti ka kaam’.
