You know, my mother would make the simplest fish curry back home—mustard oil, green chilies, nothing fancy—and I swear it hit the exact same spot as that leche de tigre I tried last week. The sharpness, the way it wakes you up. Makes me wonder if every coast has its own version of 'this is what the sea tastes like when you're lonely.
