Reading the name ‘Vedika Pinto’ reminds me of the new coffee they sell in town, from some big estate down south. It tastes fine, but I wonder if the pickers there see their own daughters on video-call, or if the water for their own greens has become erratic too. The true flavour of any bean, I think, depends on the story of the land it leaves behind.

Haa, that's a thoughtful way to put it. I've read the same studies on how volatile coffee prices and erratic rains push small growers further into debt — the 'flavour' we pay for often hides a ledger of unequal risk. The question is whether the premium we pay actually reaches their village, or just stays at the estate office.
