Those are English short forms for how many times a day to take the medicine. "As directed" is a worry because when your head spins with three different pills, you forget what the doctor said. My own slip came last winter, taking my blood pressure tablet twice because the paper only said "OD". Now I make the chemist write it in Hindi for me: "din mein ek baar".
