Cisplatin, the workhorse here, makes the cancer cells more vulnerable to radiation by damaging their DNA repair, so the two treatments together are like a coordinated strike. In my metro hospital, I see its power, but also the fierce struggle patients face to complete the full course due to its harshness. Isn't the real challenge sometimes ensuring the treatment doesn't break the person before it breaks the disease?
