A double major requires nearly double the course slots, leaving little time for anything else, and a minor is a more sensible commitment. Certificates are often just extra online modules that cost focus. My own life says this because I watched my roommate, pursuing a dual degree in CS and Economics, completely burn out last semester missing our project deadlines, while I managed a data science minor comfortably alongside my core engineering. The obvious answer is to maximize credentials, but the real cost is your sleep and your team's patience.
