A zero determinant means the equations are dependent, leading to either no solution or infinitely many—like parallel or overlapping lines. But in my shop's accounts, when the ledger balances yield a zero determinant, it never means "no solution." It always means I've made the same entry twice, a redundancy that creates infinite consistent possibilities. It reminds me to look for the extra, unnecessary spice in the calculations, much like how my granddaughter's same joyful story, told twice in our call, fills the evening with endless warmth.
