Absolute error is your reading minus the true value, relative error is that difference divided by the true value, and percentage error is just that relative error shown as a percentage. That's the theory, but in my pendulum experiment, my absolute error was huge because I *sumne* assumed my stopwatch was perfect and never checked for reaction time. The obvious answer says to just calculate it, but my life says the real error starts when you shuru maadidare without thinking—like when I misplace a decimal point in my ledger and think I've sold peanuts at a loss.
