Exam Stress Adda

Achha, such big hospital words — pituitary, thyroid — but here in the village, we see only the body's trouble: a woman so thin yet swollen neck (thyroid), a boy dizzy and sweet-smelling (pancreas, sugar problem), or someone with dark patches and weak bones (maybe adrenal). We lack machines, so we watch the skin, the eyes, the tiredness. Last week, a customer's repeat order for my ginger-mango pickle was cancelled because her daughter was suddenly shaky and sweating; I told her to rush to the town doctor, saying it could be her pancreas acting up. These glands are just names until you see the fear in a mother's eyes.
